✈️ One Night in NYC: How We Made a Travel Dream Come True

Welcome to another week! Have you read our latest post on the Wander for Days blog?

➡️ Central Park Morning & Yankee Night: One Day in New York City

Ever since I was a little girl watching the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade and the New Year’s Eve ball drop from Times Square, I’ve dreamed of going to New York City.

But NYC always felt... out of reach — too big, too busy, too expensive. It kept sliding down my travel wish list.

That is, until we planned a road trip from Indianapolis to Boston and realized we could reroute just slightly — adding only 30 minutes to our total drive — to spend one night in the Big Apple.

So we did it. And you might be wondering:

Was one night in NYC enough?

Yes. (For now!)

I'll let you dive into the full blog post for all the details, photos, and tips — but here’s the heart of it:

Look for the possible inside what feels impossible.

In less than 24 hours, we checked off some major bucket list items:

Were there things we missed? Of course.
Am I glad we went anyway? Absolutely.

There will always be more to see, do, and discover — but don’t let that stop you from doing what you can today.

Here’s what I’ve learned:
✨ Make a wish list
✨ Be realistic (with time and budget)
✨ Savor the present moment without worrying about what has to wait

Your dreams don’t need to be all-or-nothing. Sometimes, just one night is enough to spark joy and create unforgettable memories.

Keep dreaming, keep planning, and most of all—
Keep wandering,

Small worlds, big lessons from travel Happy Monday, Reader! Sometimes the best travel stories don’t start with a plane ticket — they start with a meal, a stranger and a moment of connection.
