Behind the Scenes of My 3-Country Adventure ✈️📸

Travel Photo Diaries: Uganda • Italy • Malta

Hello from home!

As I've been traveling the past few weeks, I've had the pleasure of sharing some of the unique experiences and lessons I learned along the way. We talked about full-circle moments of achieving lifetime dreams, and how shared meals sometimes translate into so much more than just the food on our plates.

If you missed any of the recent emails, head over to the e-Newsletters page on wanderfordays.com where we post each article as the new one comes out.

After three weeks in Uganda, Italy and Malta, I finally sat down and started gathering my thoughts on each uniquely beautiful destination.

Below is a glimpse into our experience, but we invite you to head over to the Wander for Days blog to read "A Travel Diary: Uganda, Italy & Malta," the first of many articles talking in more detail about our experiences in each country.

📍Uganda — A Lesson in Gratitude

I came to Uganda for a medical mission trip—but left with something I never expected: a deeper sense of humility and joy. Despite the challenges people face, they welcomed us with warmth, music and the most radiant smiles I’ve ever seen.

📝 Lesson learned: Hospitality has nothing to do with material wealth.

📍Italy — Pasta, Beauty and a Slower Pace

Italy filled me up — body and soul. I expected the food to be good (it was divine), but I didn’t expect to relax and fall in love so quickly with the slower rhythm of daily life. A morning cappuccino, a midday stroll and a long dinner under twinkling lights… Perfetto!

📝 Lesson learned: Slow down. Savor more. Let beauty linger.

📍Malta — Surprise and Wonder at Every Turn

Malta was Todd's bucket list dream come true - and it proved to be every bit as special as he'd imagined. While we'd researched the island before landing there and had some idea what to expect, what we found was a unique fusion of cultures, landscape and history layered into one tiny island. From the ornate architecture of Valletta, to the crystal-clear waters of the Blue Lagoon and Marsaxlokk, to the daily festivals throughout the island - Malta had something special to show us every single day.

📝 Lesson learned: Sometimes the most unexpected places leave the biggest impression.

🍽️ Wandering with a Fork in Hand Ciao from Malta, Reader! We just wrapped up an unforgettable 3-week, 3-country adventure — Uganda, Italy and Malta — and while the views, people and places were amazing… I’ll admit, I had one big worry before leaving:What am I going to eat? I’m not the most adventurous eater (an understatement by some people’s standards), so the idea of spending three weeks without familiar foods? Honestly, it felt a little daunting. But now, looking back, food is one of the...

A mom and baby in Uganda

Hello and happy Monday! Last week, I shared how I finally fulfilled my lifelong dream of traveling to Africa. And now that I’ve returned from ten unforgettable days in Uganda, I’m still processing it all. This wasn’t just a trip—it was a purpose-filled journey, split into two powerful parts: medical outreach and wildlife safari. One was about connecting with people. The other, with the land. Both changed me. I could tell you about... The deep poverty we witnessed—and the dignity of those...
